Six things that made us choose the Amanda, how it compares with an ordinary hoodie, and why it belongs in our autumn collection.

There comes a morning each autumn when you reach for something warm and realise every option looks much the same: grey, beige, navy. Perhaps that is practical, but it need not be the whole story.

We have always believed that feeling comfortable and looking lovely should not be two separate choices. The pieces you reach for every day deserve as much thought as the things you save for an occasion.

That is what drew us to Amanda. One cheerful sunburst print, a relaxed shape and the ease of a familiar hoodie. It catches the eye without requiring you to change the rest of your wardrobe.

A sunburst print with a little bit of everything

Look a little closer and you will notice that the colours do not simply sit side by side. They spread out in little bands from the sunny shoulder, mixing warm oranges and yellows with pink, violet, blue and green. All the fun of a patchwork quilt, in one easy-to-wear layer.

Why we're featuring the Amanda this autumn

When the air turns cool but it is not quite time for a heavy coat, a relaxed hoodie earns its place. Amanda stood out to us for its playful design and its easy everyday shape.

We chose it for the moments that make up most of a week: going to the shops, meeting a friend for coffee, or taking a little walk before supper. Those ordinary days deserve colour too.
